Bruce E. Wolff, bartender extraordinaire passed away yesterday at the age of 92. Bruce was my father in-law and I mentioned him in an earlier post about how I needed to sit down and have him tell me all about his bartending exploits. I am sad to say I never did, and I have no one to blame but myself. I did however get from him a list of all the places he worked at since 1939, and I will be following this post up with a more detailed list later.
He truly was one of a kind, and I will miss this man.

Cold beer and a steak sandwich
Years ago when I moved to Bay City I commented to my wife as we drove across town to her sisters, does every family have their own bar? It seemed like on every corner there was a bar. And the names, Tubbys, Bishops, Trixi's, Madame Shelley's, Lucky's to name just a few.
My father in law, a bartender for most of his 90 plus adult years, tells me the number of local corner bars pales in comparison to what was here back in the good old days. One of these days I must sit him down with pen and paper and get a list of all the places he worked at. He mentioned a good number of them a while back and I was astounded.
So lets get this train rolling, one a week is a good goal to shoot for don't you think?
